German company BMW and Italian giant Fiat have signed a memorandum of understanding. This means that BMW and Fiat could share from a parts alliance on the Mini and Alfa Romeo brands. The joint production and development of common components and platforms would reduce costs for both manufacturers. Italian car-maker Alfa Romeo has announced that its stunning sporty compact, the Alfa MiTo, will make its UK public debut at this year’s British International Motor Show in ExCeL London, from 23 July – 3 August 2008.
